Various Programs

At English Garden, we offer a comprehensive selection of courses to ensure that our students get the education they desire. Your focus will be on teaching children English for everyday, or conversational English. You will teach them how to properly pronounce words, and how to use the grammar you teach them in day to day life. To augment your classes, we offer an intense cram school for students who want to focus on reading and writing. These classes are taught by our Japanese staff and are part of a complete program to prepare students for Junior High School, High School and University exams.

Kids Courses

Group lessons

With a maximum size of 10, and separated by age and level, these courses focus on having the children interact with each other in English.

Pre-Kinder
Pre-Kinder
Pre-Kinder classes are for students under 4. In these classes we focus on teaching the very basics of English. We start to establish proper pronunciation and build a solid foundation for the future. Games and songs make up a large portion of these classes as we teach the children in an interactive setting to keep them interested and focused.
Kinder
Kinder classes start where Pre-Kinder classes end, with students aged between 4 and 7. In these classes, we continue to build upon a solid base. While games and songs are an integral part of our lessons, we begin to shift towards drills and activities to reinforce the proper use of simple grammar. Starting at this level we also begin to separate students by ability.Newer students learn at a pace that matches their English level.More advanced children begin learning more challenging grammar.
Junior
Junior classes are for students aged 6-8. At this level, most students have been coming to English Garden for some time, and are beginning to understand more advanced concepts. Again, students are separated by ability. Our more advanced students begin to learn tricky grammar, while other students focus on solidifying what they know, while learning new ways to apply what they have learned. At this stage games become more complex, requiring longer answers and solutions to test the student’s vocabulary. Songs also become targeted to help the student remember certain grammar points.
Senior
Senior
Students at this level usually age from 7-11. These classes focus on using already established grammar in more difficult ways. Learning to use the third person and plurals correct become the focal point of many lessons. At this stage the students can express themselves using sentences. Our more advanced students are able to accurately explain their regular schedules, both daily and weekly. They also begin to learn to express their opinions and feelings, using grammar taught in previous lessons.
Young Adults
This category is for students who are between the ages of 10 and 15. Most of these students have been coming to English Garden for some time, and are very familiar with classroom English. It is very uncommon for classroom commands to be misinterpreted. They are also equipt with a variety of ways to express themselves. Don’t be surprised if a student answers your questions in a totally unexpected, but correct way. Most students can read and write very well at this level. If a word is unfamiliar, they sound it out with great accuracy. These classes begin to introduce themes common in our adult classes, to help prepare them for the jump. Their feelings and opinions become more important, they are challenged to not only use the correct grammar, but to fill it in with their thoughts.
Man to Man Lessons
Senior
These one on one lessons allow a student to study English in a highly focusedway. These courses result in the most amazing progression. Since we can focus on the student’s weaknesses, their English level improves at a fantastic rate. These lessons also give students that are too shy or embarrassed in group lessons to open up and practice in a comfortable environment.

With Mother Lessons

In these classes, you have agroup of 2 students at the same time, the child and their mother! The goal of these lessons is to teach the child English, while the mother learns how to continue that education at home. Most students are between the age of 2 and 5. However, some students are older, but they still enjoy coming with their mom! Games and songs make up much of the lessons, with an emphasis on having fun.

Group Lessons
Senior
In the group lessons, the children learn to interact with each other, and their parents in English. By being in a group setting, they become accustom to other students and they integrate quickly into normal group lessons when the time is right.
Private Lessons
These lessons are for students and parents who have special requests, or who want to enjoy more intimate lessons. Parents can choose to split the lesson time in half. In some cases, the child takes the first half, and the parent takes the second.

Adult Courses

For adults of any age, these lessons help them further in their English abilities. Some do it for fun, others study for work. We aim to help them all to reach their goals with 2 types of classes, groups and man to man lessons.
